Songbird Care Homes Questions

Questions about Songbird and Board & Care Facilities?

What is a Board & Care?

Board & Care facilities, officially known as residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs), are community-based residential and caregiver arrangements available to elderly individuals who are in need of assistance in daily living activities. These facilities are commonly based in residential homes and located in neighborhoods.

How does Songbird Care Homes handle hospice care?

Songbird cannot accept patients who are already on hospice care. However, residents who go on hospice care while in our homes, can remain at the home. Songbird Caregivers are trained to assist residents who are on Hospice, including residents who are bed-bound and receive ongoing support from a Hospice program.

Can Songbird Care Homes take residents with Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease?

Yes, but it does depend, in part, on the individual’s additional medical needs. Please contact us for further inquiries, and we can help determine whether Songbird is the correct fit for your loved one.
